One of the world’s most-liked cricket competitions in the world is the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Millions of cricket fans tune in each year to watch the IPL because of the exciting action, surprising results, and star-studded lineups.

As the tournament continues to grow in popularity, it’s only natural to start looking ahead to the next edition of the IPL.

The season opener of the IPL 2023 will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 31 and feature the defending champion Gujarat Titans taking on the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings.

The last game of the 16th IPL season, scheduled for May 28, 2023, will be one of 74 games played between the 10 IPL teams.

IPL 2023 New Rules: Major Highlights

  • Return of Home and Away format
  • After the toss, the teams can now decide on their starting 11 players.
  • After the toss, each team may name five substitutes in addition to their starting 11. Only one of these five has the potential to have an impact.
  • Beginning with IPL 2023, DRS will apply to all no-balls and wides called by on-field umpires.

IPL 2023: Teams & Groups 

Mumbai Indians (MI), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Delhi Capitals (DC), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are among the teams in Group A, while Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Gujarat Titans are among the teams in Group B. (GT).

IPL 2023: Venues

IPL 2023 will once again use the “home-and-away” format. Ahmedabad, Mohali, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Guwahati, and Dharamshala are a few of them.
