    In a historic and record-breaking performance, Karnataka’s young batting sensation, Prakhar Chaturvedi, left an indelible mark on the cricketing world by smashing an unbeaten 404 runs in the final of the Cooch Behar Trophy against Mumbai.

    The annual four-day tournament for U19 cricketers witnessed an extraordinary display of skill and dominance from Chaturvedi, who opened the innings for Karnataka in the title clash. 

    Facing an incredible 638 deliveries, he showcased remarkable resilience and technique, ultimately achieving the unprecedented feat of becoming the first-ever batsman to breach the 400-run mark in a Cooch Behar Trophy final.

    Chaturvedi’s innings was nothing short of a masterclass, featuring a staggering 46 boundaries and three sixes. The young prodigy’s marathon knock not only showcased his exceptional batting prowess but also demonstrated a level of maturity beyond his years. 

    His ability to construct such monumental innings at the U19 level speaks volumes about his talent and potential in the world of cricket.

    The match took place at the KSCA Navule Stadium, where Karnataka, after opting to field first, found themselves on the back foot as Mumbai posted a competitive total of 380 runs in the first innings. 

    Despite notable contributions from Mumbai’s opener Ayush Mhatre, who scored 145 runs, and Karnataka’s Samit Dravid, who picked up two wickets, the spotlight was firmly on Chaturvedi once he took the crease.

    Chaturvedi’s record-breaking innings boosted Karnataka to an imposing total of 890 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 223 overs before declaring. This monumental contribution not only gave Karnataka a substantial lead but also etched Chaturvedi’s name in the annals of cricket history.

    Following the declaration, Karnataka, holding a commanding first innings lead of 510 runs, secured the Cooch Behar Trophy for the season.
