Australia will be travelling to South Africa for a white-ball tour and this promises to be an absolute crackerjack of a series. The two sides will be first meeting for a 3-match T20I series followed by a 5-match ODI series.
The year 2023 is a ODI World Cup year and all team’s World Cup preparations are in full swing. As usual, Australia are one of the strongest sides on paper ahead of the marquee event.
South Africa too have some quality players and they will be presenting a strong bid for the World Cup top honours. Through the 5-match ODI series, the two sides would be aiming to prepare themselves well for the tournament.
Australia have named Mitchell Marsh is the new T20I captain. The all-rounder would be hoping to fill in the shoes of former captain Aaron Finch in terms of captaincy. Notably, he will also be leading the ODI side as Pat Cummins has been ruled out because of a wrist injury.
However, Australian fans can heave a sigh of relief as the speedster is expected to be fit for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
