    IND vs ENG Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan’s hard-work has finally paid-off. After years of toil at the domestic level, Sarfaraz Khan has finally earned his maiden call-up to the national side. As KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja have been ruled out of the 2nd Test between India and England due to injuries, Sarfaraz Khan has been called up for the 2nd Test.

Khan has been a regular of India A and was constantly performing well for them. In the 2nd unofficial Test between India A and England Lions, Khan had deservedly bagged the player of the match award for his impressive knock of 161 runs in 160 balls.

His knock was laced with 18 fours and 5 sixes and he played like a true marksman. Sarfaraz Khan’s long wait is finally over!

Sarfaraz Khan has been a run-machine in first-class matches

The young batter has played 45 first-class matches so far and has been a beast with the blazing blade. He has scored 3912 runs with a good average of 69.85 and has been one of the doyens of his team, Mumbai.

If we keep aside this Ranji Trophy and focus on the previous two seasons, we understand that Khan was constantly banging at the selectors’ doors. He scored 1910 runs in just 12 matches and had a stupendous average of 136.42.

Khan’s place in the Indian Test side has been well and truly deserving. He was in the waiting list for a long time and several reports suggested that his fitness issues were a major roadblock to him securing a place in the Indian cricket team.

Khan has also played in the Indian Premier League (IPL)

Sarfaraz Khan has also featured in the cash-rich and lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL). He made his IPL debut way back in 2015 and has played 50 games. Initially, he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) under the astute captaincy of Virat Kohli.

In IPL 2019, he represented Punjab Kings (PBKS) and has been associated with them for a few years. He has also played for Delhi Capitals (DC) in this tournament.

The 2nd Test between India and England will be played at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam and will be played from 2nd February 2024 to 6th February 2024.
