Zimbabwe will be touring Sri Lanka for 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is in January 2024 and the stakes and the excitement levels are quite high. Sri Lanka have lost just 3 ODIs against Zimbabwe at home and would be quite confident of winning this series against them.
The away side have named two different squads for the two white-ball formats and veteran Zimbabwean batter, Craig Ervine, has staged a comeback into the ODI team of Zimbabwe.
The 1st ODI will be played on 6th January 2024 at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. After the completion of the ODI series, the action will be shifting towards the T20I series, which starts from 14th January 2024.
While Sri Lanka have qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Zimbabwe have failed to qualify to this marquee tournament in USA and West Indies. The Zimbabweans had lost to Namibia and Uganda in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers and that was the reason why there were eliminated.
Sri Lanka would be keen on performing well in this series as every limited overs game before the World Cup, becomes extremely important.
