As the 7th edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is all set to kick-start from 12th June 2023, the buzz and excitement levels have soared up in the cricketing fraternity. 4 cities of Tamil Nadu will be hosting the tournament and they are namely: Coimbatore, Salem, Dindigul and Tirunelveli.
8 teams will be taking part in this league and the entire southern cricketing community of India will be hooked throughout the entirety of the tournament. A total of 28 matches will be taking place in the Tamil Nadu Premier League and an Indian Premier League (IPL) style playoffs will be followed.
Over the years, we have seen several cricketers perform well in the Tamil Nadu Premier League and then come in the limelight. They have then gone on to bag IPL deals and have also played for India.

1. Shivam Singh (Dindigul Dragons)
26-year-old all-rounder from Bihar, Shivam Singh will be playing an integral role for Dindigul Dragons in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Premier League 2023. He was bought for an amount of Rs.15.95 lakhs in the TNPL auction and will be a key player to watch out for.
Shivam Singh is widely known for being the first batter to smash a century in the Goswami Ganesh Dutt Cricket Tournament in Delhi, which is being played for 48 years.
2. Ravichandran Ashwin (Dindigul Dragons)
One of the greatest off-spinners to have played for India, Ravichandran Ashwin will be plying his trade for the Dindigul Dragons in the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2023. His expertise and wide experience will play a key role in the team of the Dragons.
Ashwin is one of the most smart and wily bowlers and is a genuine all-rounder. He recently played for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He bagged 14 wickets and amassed 67 runs in IPL 2023.
3. Sunny Sandhu (Salem Spartans)
One of the most talented young bowlers of India, Sunny Sandhu can foresee himself to have a bright future in the cricketing circuit. In the last edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League, Sandhu bagged 8 wickets and had an exceptional economy of 6.1.
He will be one of the most watched out players in the Salem Spartans team. The Spartans will be playing the season opener on 12th June 2023 at the SNR College Cricket Ground in Coimbatore.
4. Shah Rukh Khan (Lyca Kovai Kings)
Swashbuckling middle-order batter Shah Rukh Khan has been touted as the next big-thing in Indian cricket based on his finishing abilities. His ability to smear the bowlers all across the park makes him a fascinating player to watch out for.
The 28-year-old cricketer has so far played 33 IPL games and has amassed 426 runs with a decent strike-rate of 134.8.
5. Varun Chakrvarthy (Dindigul Dragons)
The most heart-warming story from the Tamil Nadu Premier League is architect-turned cricketer, Varun Chakravarthy. The right-arm mystery spinner is an integral part of the Dragons and will be spearheading their bowling department.
Varun plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL and is a wizard in the IPL. He had a stellar IPL 2023 performance and bagged 20 wickets in 14 games for the 2-time IPL champions.
