The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will host a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan from February 16–18 in Abu Dhabi, as per a contract negotiated by the two cricket boards in November. On February 16, 18, and 19, Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Hubs Zayed Cricket Stadium will host the three-match T20I series.
According to the agreement, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) will get logistical and infrastructure help from the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) for the following five years, including hosting their “home” matches during that time. Afghanistan agreed to play UAE in a yearly three-match T20I series till the agreement expires.
Afghanistan has selected a preliminary list of 22 players for a training camp in the UAE for the UAE series.
Rashid Khan will lead the visitors, who will travel to the UAE next week for a pre-series conditioning camp in Abu Dhabi. After that, the squad will be reduced to 17 men.
