    On Friday night, an unfortunate tragedy took place as the country saw one of the worst railway accidents in Indian history. 

    Three trains collided in Odisha in a tragic series of events, sparking a large rescue and evacuation effort. A per the latest update, the collision claimed the lives of over 233 people and left over 900 others injured.

    The tragic crash occurred near the Bahanaga Baazar station in Balasore district, approximately 250 km south of Kolkata and 170 km north of Bhubaneswar. 

    The incident took place around 7 pm, prompting the Railway Ministry to order an immediate investigation. The shocking collision left the entire nation in disbelief and mourning.

    According to media reports, the crash involved three trains: the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a goods train. The collision resulted in a staggering loss of over 230 lives while leaving more than 900 individuals injured.

    Amidst the aftermath, Indian cricketers including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Gautam Gambhir, and others expressed their grief over the horrific train accident that unfolded in Odisha on Friday, June 2.

    On Saturday, June 3, several members of the Indian cricket team took to social media to offer their condolences to the victims and their families, expressing their shock and grief over the tragic incident. The nation stands united in grief and support for all those affected by this heart-wrenching tragedy.

    How the Odisha train accident occurred?

    In a shocking turn of events, several coaches of the 12864 Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express derailed and toppled onto adjacent tracks, as reported by ANI. 

    Simultaneously, the 12841 Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, travelling in the opposite direction on the parallel track, collided with the derailed coaches.

    Approximately 12 coaches of the Coromandel Express also derailed and collided with a stationary goods train positioned on the third track. The devastating Odisha train accident occurred at approximately 7 pm on Friday, marking a horrific and fateful moment.
