After roughly 722 days, the former captain of New Zealand scored a century in a Test match. On the third day of the Karachi Test against Pakistan, Williamson scored his 25th century, giving the team a commanding lead of 2 runs.

Williamson, who was just playing in his third test of the year, battled hard against Pakistan’s spinners to get his century and lead New Zealand’s powerful comeback to the hosts’ first innings total of 438.

Recently Kane Williamson step down from the New Zealand test captaincy. In place of him, Tim Southee was named as skipper of the red-ball New Zealand team.

The last century Williamson scored coincidentally came against Pakistan. When Pakistan was the opponent in the Christchurch Test in January 2021, he played a fantastic inning of 238. Williamson is the first non-Asian batsman to reach the century mark in a Test match in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and India.
