    Tanmay Agarwal, the Hyderabad opener, recently etched his name in the record books by smashing the fastest triple century in first-class cricket during the 2023/24 Ranji Trophy clash against Arunachal Pradesh.

    Tanmay Agarwal Broke Previous Records:

    Agarwal’s monumental knock surpassed the previous record held by South Africa’s Marco Marais, who had achieved a triple century in 191 balls during a game between Border and Western Province in 2017. 

    Not only did Agarwal rewrite the record for the fastest triple century, but he also eclipsed Colin Munro’s record for the most sixes in a first-class innings.

    Agarwal’s cricketing journey traces back almost a decade when he made his List A debut in November 2014, leaving an indelible mark with a scintillating knock of 136 against Karnataka in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. 

    Despite early flashes of brilliance, consistency became the key challenge for Agarwal throughout his career.

    The 2023-24 season emerged as a watershed moment for Agarwal in the Ranji Trophy. 

    With 594 runs at an exceptional average of 148.5 in just four matches, he surpassed his previous best tally of 562 runs from the previous year.
