Day 1 of the 1st Test match between India and West Indies was completely dominated by the visitors. Banking on Ravichandran Ashwin’s 33rd five-wicket haul in Tests, India leapt into a commanding position.
West Indies were bundled out for a paltry 150 runs in the 1st innings and India started the 2nd innings on a positive note. Openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal are presently playing with a positive mindset and India’s Current Run-Rate is 3.48.
One important thing to note in the 2nd innings was how fearless Jaiswal was. He didn’t shy away from scoring boundaries and also reverse-swept left-arm orthodox bowler Jomel Warrican in the first ball of the final over of the day.
This is the 1st Test series for both the sides in the new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle and both the sides would be hoping to start off on a positive note.
