    India staged a fabulous comeback in the 3rd ODI of this 3-match ODI series versus West Indies after a shock 6-wicket defeat in the 2nd ODI. The Men in Blue registered a massive 200-run victory over the hosts and shrugged off all cloaks of meek inferiority.

    West Indies didn’t seem to have gotten over the proceedings of the 2nd ODI as they it felt like they were still in a state of hangover. They conceded 351 runs in the 1st innings as India stormed towards a big total.

    Post that, the batters of West Indies let down their team as they were bundled out for an abysmal score of 151 runs. The likes of Shardul Thakur, Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav displayed their prowess with the white-ball and blew away the hosts.

    1. Hardik Pandya excelled in the last few overs.

    One of the biggest positive signs for Team India post this ODI has been the finishing prowess of Hardik Pandya. The vice-captain of Team India (captain in the absence of Rohit Sharma) went all guns blazing in the final few overs and scored a fabulous knock of 70* runs in 52 deliveries.

    Notably, Pandya scored his maiden half-century as India captain and this was a special moment for him at Trinidad and Tobago. He scored his fifty in 45 deliveries.

    2. Mukesh Kumar impressed with the new ball

    29-year-old pacer Mukesh Kumar had made his debut in national colours in this tour. After his debut in Test format in the final Test against WI, Kumar was handed his maiden ODI cap in the 1st ODI.

    Kumar breathed fire in the 3rd and final ODI of this series. He extracted a lot of movement from the surface and kept poking the West Indian batters. Kumar bagged 2 wickets in successive overs at the start and then picked up his 3rd wicket inside the powerplay itself.

    3. Ishan Kishan presents strong case for himself

    As Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul are injured, India went ahead with Ishan Kishan as the wicket-keeper in this ODI series. And the youngster grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Kishan played exceedingly well in this ODI series and was awarded with the player of the series award.

    In 3 games, the 25-year-old cricketer amassed 184 runs and had a scintillating average of 61.33. Kishan is presenting a strong case for him in front of the selectors ahead of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
