From the beginning only, India A displayed their intent to dominate the competition, exhibiting a combination of talent, teamwork, and strategic brilliance. Their journey to the final was marked by a series of impressive victories, highlighting their dominance over their opponents.

India women dominate Bangladesh in Final Clash

In the highly anticipated final showdown against Bangladesh A, India A stamped their authority with a comprehensive display of cricketing prowess. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, India A posted a competitive total of 127 for seven at the Mission Road Ground, Mong Kok.

Contributions from key players such as Dinesh Vrinda, who top-scored with a composed 36 off 29 deliveries, and Kanika Ahuja, who remained unbeaten on a crucial 30 off 23 balls, laid a solid foundation for India A’s innings.

Despite the persistent efforts of the Bangladesh bowlers, India A managed to set a challenging target.

In response, the Indian bowlers displayed exceptional skill and discipline, exploiting the conditions to their advantage. The spin duo of Shreyanka Patil and Mannat Kashyap played pivotal roles in dismantling the Bangladesh A batting lineup.

Patil displayed her magic with remarkable figures of 4 for 13, while Kashyap complemented her performance with an impressive 3 for 20.

The Indian bowlers proved too tough for Bangladesh A, eventually bundling them out for a mere 96 runs. Sobhana Mostary and Nahida Akter showed resistance with their contributions of 16 and 17 runs, respectively. However, they were unable to overcome the relentless Indian bowling attack.

    India won over weather challenges

Given that the Indian squad only played in a few games during the tournament owing to bad weather, this victory is extremely important for them.

Most of India’s games were washed out by rain, including their semifinal match against Sri Lanka, which was called off without a ball being bowled. In fact, eight games throughout the tournament were impacted by the rains.

Despite the obstacles presented by the weather, the India A squad displayed outstanding skill, tenacity, and adaptation to win the Women’s Emerging Asia Cup T20 with honor.

Their success is a testament to their capacity for overcoming challenges and taking advantage of possibilities that presented themselves on the cricketing field.
