PUBG Mobile is one of the most-loved games in the world today. The key difference between PUBG Mobile ad other eSports games and what makes it stand out is that the game is played and loved by professional gamers and regular people who play it as a pastime alike. However, much to the dismay of Indian gamers, the game was banned by the Indian government stating that the game developers are breaching the security of the country by letting out vital information to China.
Once the game was banned, the entire gaming community felt its absence to a huge extent. The need was immediately felt for a replacement as people began scurrying for alternatives that were similar to PUBG Mobile. As a result, Krafton released Battlegrounds Mobile India, or BGMI, specifically to cater to the Indian audience. Although the game was made to be exactly the same as PUBG Mobile, there were a few slight modifications made in order to comply with government standards and the Indian audience. Albeit few, there are differences between the two games. Let us look at the 5 major differences.

1. Global vs Indian

PUBG Mobile was released for the whole world, and all updates and features would be received by players all around the world. Although it is now banned in many countries, when it was initially released it was released globally. However, BGMI was released exclusively for India. It was meant to merely be an adaptation of PUBG Mobile for India.

2. Kills vs. Finish

When an enemy is eliminated in PUBG Mobile, it is called a ‘kill’. On the other hand, in BGMI, when a player is eliminated, it is called a ‘finish’. This was changed with a view to reducing the violent-sounding words in the game and making it more child-friendly.

3. K/D vs. F/D

Since ‘kill’ was replaced with ‘finish’, as a consequence, the Kill/Death ratio which is an important indicator of a player’s prowess was replaced by Finish/Death. K/D thus shows as F/D in BGMI.

4. Hit effect

In another attempt to make the game more child-friendly, the effect that shows up in PUBG Mobile when an enemy is killed was modified. While playing PUBG Mobile, when an enemy is killed, a red colour effect appears, mimicking blood coming out of the enemy. In BGMI, this was changed to either green or yellow.

5. Audio warning

In BGMI, in the spawn island, players are given a warning which says, “This game is a simulation in a virtual world and does not represent the real world. Please play in moderation and take frequent breaks.” This was not present in PUBG Mobile.
