Belgium international player Eden Hazard has drawn curtains on his international footballing career after 14 long years. The 31-year-old took to Instagram to make the announcement. This comes after Belgium’s unexpected exit from the FIFA World Cup 2022. After a 0-2 loss against Morocco and a draw against Croatia, the Red Devils crashed out of the marquee event in Qatar.

Eden Hazard was a peripheral player for Belgium as he was brought in mostly as a substitute during Belgium’s matches. Hazard has played 126 games for Belgium and has netted 33 goals for them. He made his international debut way back at the age of 17 in 2008. Eden Hazard has also served as the captain of the Belgium football team on 56 occasions.

Eden Hazard will now fully put his band-with and attention on reviving his Real Madrid career. He has so far played 51 matches for Real Madrid and has netted only 4 goals. The former Chelsea player is one of the best contemporary wingers.

Back in Chelsea, Eden Hazard played in 245 matches and he has scored 85 goals. He went down as a legend of Chelsea but has failed to replicate his magic at Real Madrid. Now that he has called it quits from his international career, he would be focussing on bettering his record at Real Madrid.

Eden Hazard’s most memorable memory as a captain of his national team would be leading his side to the number 1 rank in the FIFA Team Rankings for the first time. He was the skipper of the Red Devils from 2015 to 2022.

The 31-year-old attacking midfielder has also represented Belgium in the U15, U16, U17, and U19 divisions.
