ISL 2022-23: Odisha FC Win Against Hyderabad FC In A Thriller

Hyderabad FC tasted their 3rd defeat in the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23 as their ISL League Shield chances have taken a further dent. Odisha FC’s playoff chances have improved post this win and they would be hoping to continue this winning momentum.

The score-line of this game read 3-1 and Isak Vanlalruatfela and Diego Mauricio netted the goals for the home side. Nim Dorjee Tamang scored an own goal for the Nizams. He incidentally also scored the only goal for Hyderabad FC in this game.

In the 33rd minute, Pedro Martin executed a pass to Isak Vanlalruatfela, who took a shot from a long distance from the center. The shot swirled inside and Hyderabad FC’s goalkeeper couldn’t get a hand to it. Odisha FC drew first blood.

Hyderabad FC came back on level ground with a set-piece in the 45th minute. Joel Chianese took a shot and guided it with perfection towards the centre. There was a touch from Borja Hererra and it came in the trajectory of Nim Dorjee Tamang who smashed a downwards header to the bottom of the goal on the right side to score the equalizer.

In the 72nd minute, a deflection from Nim Dorjee Tamang caused an own goal and Odisha FC were back in the lead. This essentially changed the entire game as Odisha FC who were the better side in the game, became even more confident and motivated.

In the dying minutes of the game, Diego Mauricio slotted another goal home. Isaac Chhakchhuak lobbed in a ball that found the Brazilian in the right part of the penalty box. He eclipsed past the offside trap and netted the goal for the home side from close-range.

Hyderabad FC’s 8-match unbeaten streak was broken. They will next play ATK Mohun Bagan on 14th February 2023. On the other hand, Odisha FC will be locking horns next with NorthEast United FC on February 17.
