Manchester United confirmed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo for a whopping fee of £65 milliion plus an additional £6 million in add-ons. The period is for 5 years with an option for extending the contract by a year.
The 25-year-old midfielder from Brentford brings a lot of experience and quality and can be a vital cog in the wheels of Manchester United. Mbeumo, in a conversation with Manchester United’s website, mentioned how excited he was to come to Old Trafford and work alongside Ruben Amorim.
“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams; the team whose shirt I wore growing up. My mentality is to always be better than I was yesterday. I know that I have the spirit and character to reach another level here learning from Ruben Amorim and playing alongside world-class players. Everybody told me about the environment that is being created here and how exciting the plans are for the future. This is a massive club, with an incredible stadium and amazing fans, we are all really determined to challenge for the biggest trophies,” said Mbeumo.
Bryan Mbeumo is Manchester United’s 3rd signing this summer
Manchester United previously secured the services of Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Diego Leon from Cerro Porteno. Both the players made their debut in the warm-up game against Leeds United last Sunday.
Mbeumo had scored 20 goals in Premier League 2024-25 and was in red-hot, blistering form. The right-winger plays for the Cameroon Football Team and has played 22 international matches, scoring 6 goals.
He has previously played age-group football for France – for France U17, U20 and U21. Overall, he has played 222 games for Brentford, having scored 65 goals across all competitions.
His ability to find pockets of space on the field and delivering in those inch-perfect crosses, makes him stand out.
