He would be overtaking Neymar who has a combined transfer fee of € 271.7 million.

A return to the Premier League:

Romelu Lukaku has a lot of Premier League experience as he played. He signed for Chelsea FC themselves back in 2011 after completing a move from the Belgian club Anderlecht. He couldn’t find form at the Blues and was loaned out to West Bromwich Albion and Everton.

The Striker Signed Everton on a Permanent deal in 2014 and spent three seasons at the club scoring 68 goals for the Club.

In 2017, the striker completed his move to Manchester United where he spent two seasons and scored 28 goals.

Lukau’s Performance in the Premier League:

2011/12Chelsea FC01
2012/13West Brom170
2017/18Man United167
2018/19Man United120

With 113 goals in the Premier League, the 28 old Belgian is already considered one of the best players to play in the league. His next stint at Chelsea would just bolster his profile even more.

Recent Form at Inter & Belgium:

Inter: Lukaku was in mesmerizing form in the Serie A leading the club to the 20201/21 Italian League title for the first time in 9 years.

Lukaku’s Performance with Inter Milan in the Serie A:

He formed a deadly attacking trio with Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez at the club.

Following his departure, the Inter fans were furious and demanded that the President of Inter Milan Mr. Steven Zhang stepped down from his position. Inter have lost both their manager Antonio Conte and Romelu Lukaku, their top goalscorer from the past two seasons in the summer window.

Belgium: The striker is coming to Chelsea after a very successful stint at the Euro with Belgium. Lukaku scored 4 goals in the 5 games that Belgium played at the Euro.

Timo Werner has his say on Lukaku:

Werner in an interview with Sky Sports said that ” Lukaku is probably one of the three best strikers in the world at the moment.”

” I don’t think we need to say too much about Lukaku. He is a player who would benefit any team that he plays for” the German striker said.

Chelsea would probably have a front three of Havertz-Werner and Lukaku when the new season starts on Saturday.

It would be interesting to see how well Lukaku and Havertz link up in the attack. Thomas Tuchel could certainly opt to use the 4-4-2 or the 4-3-3 formation depending on what suits the team.

Nevertheless, it would be very exciting for Chelsea fans to see the striker back at the Club. The fans would certainly be expecting a lot of goals from their new Summer Signing
