Wriddhiman Saha Scores Gritty Fifty Against Australia A In 1st Practice Match

In the ongoing first practice match between Australia A and India A, Wriddhiman Saha has smashed a decent half-century against the hosts. This knock from the glovemen is a positive sign for Team India going ahead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. BCCI also reacted in the best possible way on social media and praised the effort of the Indian wicketkeeper on his return to competitive cricket following his recovery from a hamstring injury.

In the match, India A won the toss and elected to bat first. The visitors failed to come up with a good effort in the first inning and managed a total of 247 runs for a loss of 9 wickets. In reply, Australia A responded well with a mammoth total of 306 runs before announcing the declaration. Chris Green once again showed his class with the bat and turned things around for his team. He smashed a brilliant knock of 125 runs.

BCCI Comes Up With A Post For Wriddhiman Saha

Coming onto the crucial part of the game, India A batsmen struggled against Australia A bowling attack. Prithvi Shaw and Shubhman Gill opened the innings. But couldn’t manage to get off the mark with a good knock. The former scored 19 runs whereas the latter amassed 29 runs. Even the middle-order batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, Hanuma Vihari, and Ajinkya Rahane also failed in the 2nd innings to score well for the team.

The fans thought that Team India will lose the game quite early. But, Wriddhiman Saha had some other plans. The wicketkeeper was coming into the game after recovering from his hamstring injury and utilized the opportunity really well. He played an Aussie bowling attack with utmost confidence and amassed 54 runs off 100 balls. He was the only player to score 50+ runs in the innings from India A.

Indian cricket Board BCCI was impressed with the comeback of Wriddhiman Saha and they even shared a post on social media as well. BCCI took to its official Twitter handle and shared a post that read, “Wriddhiman Saha completes a gritty half-century. Indians declare at 189/9 against Australia A after securing a 130-run lead.”

This a big positive thing for Men in Blue as India vs Australia Test series is scheduled to begin on December 17. And, Wridhiman Saha is expected to play a key role of a wicketkeeper.
