'Hats Off,'- Gautam Gambhir Lauds Virat Kohli For Breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s 17-Year-Old Record

Virat Kohli broke Sachin Tendulkar’s 17-year-old record of becoming the quickest batsmen to score 12000 ODI runs. And, he was garnered with wishes from every nook and corner. The former cricketers took to micro-blogging site to wish him luck with congratulatory posts. Now, Gautam Gambhir, the former Indian cricketer has joined the bandwagon and praised Kohli for achieving such a big milestone.

The 32-year-old completed his 22000 runs in international cricket during the 2nd ODI in Sydney. In the second affair, he left God of Cricket behind as far as matches are concerned. Kohli managed to score 12000 ODI runs in 241 innings. But Sachin Tendulkar took a total of 300 innings.

Gautam Gambhir Gives An Applauds To Virat Kohli On His Achievement

Gautam Gambhir, who recently criticized Virat Kohli’s captaincy, said that it’s a big achievement for the 32-year-old. He added that Virat Kohli has worked hard over the past 12 years to become one of the best in cricket. And, he also praised Kohli saying it is something that will stay with for a long time.

“You can take anything, you can actually do whatever you want, but the best feeling in the world is when you score that last run and come back to your hotel room and you’re so satisfied that you’ve done something for your country, what you were meant to do,” Gambhir was quoted as saying on Star Sports Cricket Connected chat show.

“So probably, all those combinations have made him what he is, and hats off to him, he’s scored more than 20,000 runs, centuries all that,” he added.

Virat Kohli is currently gearing up for the three-match India vs Australia T20I series set to begin on December 4 at Manuka Oval in Canberra. The next couple of games will be played in Sydney at Sydney Cricket Ground. The 32-year-old will be part of Team India for the 1st Test of the four-match Border-Gavaskar trophy.
