Sanjay Manjrekar, the former Indian cricketer, who is widely known for his outspoken behavior, has lauded Indian bowling unit performance in the absence of senior players like Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The former player is impressed with the way Indian bench strength has shown positive signs in such a high-profile series against Australia in Australia.

India suffered big setbacks throughout the series with their frontline bowlers getting injured game by game. In the end, they were left with the choice to go with bowlers that have not more than 4 Test matches in international cricket. The majority of the fans might have thought the Australian batting line-up will easily make the mockery of the in-experienced Indian bowling-unit. But, that has not been the case with the team.

Sanjay Manjrekar Impressed With Never Say Die Attitude Of Indian Bowlers

Mohammed Siraj and debutant Shardul Thakur sensibly took responsibility on their shoulder and dashed out nine Aussie batters in the second innings. Also, they did produce a remarkable performance in the first innings. Later on, Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar’s work with the bat was like icing on the cake.

They stitched a partnership of 123 runs for the seventh wicket and rescued Team India from getting closer to a series losing defeat. Team India bowlers did impress Sanjay Manjrekar to the helm and the former player said that it is a good feeling to watch Indian bowlers performing so well, although the tide was against them. He also added that the never give an attitude of the team is simply great.

Sanjay Manjrekar took to his official Twitter handle and shared a post that read, “Hats off! Just hats off to this Indian bowling attack for the spirit they have shown in this Test. Second innings too! Same dogged, never say die spirit. Saini too with a severe groin strain bowling gamely for his captain. Respect#AUSvIND.”

At the end of Day-4, Team India finished at a score of 4 runs without the loss of any wicket. Now, the stage is set and Team India needs 324 runs on Day-5 in order to create history by winning their 2nd consecutive Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
