Ajinkya Rahane Looks Pretty Optimistic Ahead Of Adelaide Test
Back in 2018-19, Team India defeated Australia on their own soil in the longer format series by 2-1. And, there is a big debate going on between former players that it was a fluke. However, this time Men in Blue will have a responsibility to repeat the same success. However, it will not be an easy task for them. The visitors’ will be without Virat Kohli’s services post-first-Test. Rohit Sharma will be available in the final two games. Moreover, Ishant Sharma, who performed extremely well on the previous tour, has been ruled out from the Test series.
There are lots of problems that Team India is currently facing. But fans have expectations that they will come out with flying colors in the upcoming match. Ajinkya Rahane said that Team India performed remarkably well back in 2018-19. He added that this is going to be a totally fresh series and they will look to gain momentum from the very first game of the series.
He opined that they will attack and try to take all 20 wickets in the matches. The middle-order batsman pointed out that is focused on playing the pink-ball game and not thinking much about the matches.
“We all know we did really well last time (in 2018). This is a new series starting with the pink ball, it’s about getting the momentum. We have the attack to get 20 wickets. For us, what’s important is to start well and stay in the present. Just focusing on the pink ball Test and then focusing on the remaining matches.” Rahane said as quoted by Sportstar
“They are a very good team. We have to play to our potential. This time, we are playing the pink-ball Test. Preparation has been really good so far.”
Also, Rahane feels that R Ashwin will be a very important player with the ball. And, he is positive about his performance in the Border-Gavaskar series,” Ashwin’s role will be very important. He has variety in bowling. I am sure he will have a very good series,” Rahane said about Ravichandran Ashwin.
