England lost the recently concluded Test series by 1-3 against India. After winning the series opener, the hosts marked a strong comeback and won three games on a Trott. Ben Stokes, the talented all-rounder congratulated Team India for performing well. Meanwhile, now he has revealed that he along with his teammates lost enough weight while playing the 4th Test match in scratching heat.

England lost the final game of the four-match Test series by an innings and 25 runs. The English side struggled against the spinners throughout the series. However, Ben Stokes feels that the team gave their best on the field with their full hearts.

Ben Stokes Reveals That Many Players Lost Weight During 4th Test

Ben Stokes asserted that England showed a hundred percent commitment. Also, the world-class all-rounder added that he along with other players lost a lot of weight while playing at Narendra Modi Stadium in the 4th Test.

“Players are totally committed to England and I think that was emphasized last week when a few of us went down with an illness that made operating in 41-degree heat particularly taxing,” Stokes was quoted as saying to Mirror Sport.

Stokes opined that he lost around 5 kg, Dominic Sibley lost 4kg. It is not an excuse that he can use for suffering defeat against Team India. As per him, Rishabh Pant played a fantabulous knock in the 2nd innings of the 4th Test. The left-handed all-rounder feels that the young Indian cricketer became margin of win and defeat between the two teams in the final Tests.

“I lost 5kg in a week, Dom Sibley 4kg and Jimmy Anderson 3kg among others. Jack Leach was ducking off the field in between bowling spells and spending more time than is ideal in the toilet.

“This is in no way an excuse because everyone was ready to play, and India and Rishabh Pant especially produced a terrific performance, but I take off my hat to the effort that was put in by players who gave everything they had to try and win for England,” he stated.
