In the ongoing Test, Ashwin has managed and broke several records with the bat and ball. He has become the only player to score a century and take five wickets on the home ground.

Ashwin came into cricket traditionally as an opener. The Indian spinner played for long as an opener in Chennai. But, soon his coach saw bowling talent, and the rest is history. In the past year. Earlier questions were raised on his wicket-taking ability. However, he proved his worth with the ball in every condition whether be it in New Zealand, England, Australia, or West Indies.

Ashwin has broken almost every record possible with the bat and ball against England. And, he has got his name scripted in the history of international cricket. He amassed 104 runs with the bat and single-handedly took the game away from the visitors. It was the 5th Test ton of my cricketing career.

Now, England needs 481 runs to win the game and it looks like an impossible task for their side to chase the target as the spinners are getting ample turn from the wicket.

R Ashwin has picked 268 wickets in India. He has left Harbhajan Singh (265 wickets) behind. And is only Anil Kumble (350 wickets) is the only bowler ahead of Ashwin in terms of most Test wickets in India.
