India is currently playing the series opener of the three-match ODI series against England. And, the hosts suffered an injury scare as Indian opener Rohit Sharma was hit with the ball on his right elbow while playing Mark Wood with soft hands. However, he is still set on the crease and smashing visitor bowlers with ease.

England won the toss and elected to bowl first in the 1st ODI. As expected Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma opened the innings for Team India. The duo took enough time to get settled on the crease. In the first 5 over spell, England bowlers dominated Indian batsmen with their accuracy and swing bowling. They remained successful in restricting the hosts’ openers from scoring runs at a good run-rate.

The scary injury instance happened in the 5th over of the innings. Mark Wood was bowling quick at a speed of around 145 km/hr. Also, the English pacer was getting enough swing in the first spell. On the fourth delivery of the 5th over, he bowled an in-swinger that hit the elbow of Rohit Sharma.

Afterwards, he looked in pain and team physio quickly stepped out in order to give an aid to the Indian opener. The game was paused for few sometime and Indian fans were in dilemma if Rohit will play in the match or not. However, he was back and decided to continue batting in the 1st ODI against England.

Coming onto the match, Team India has scored 43 runs for a loss of no wicket in stipulated 11 overs. Shikhar Dhawan is playing at a score of 23 runs. Rohit Sharma is also unbeaten at his indvidual score of 20 runs.
