MS Dhoni Takes A One-Handed World Class Catch Against Royals- Watch

MS Dhoni, the former Indian skipper is facing criticism from the fans for his slow batting in the middle-order irrespective of match conditions. And, many critics feel that he is no more fit to play in a tournament like the Indian Premier League. However, he shut down his critics by taking a marvelous catch to dismiss Sanju Samson in the match against Rajasthan Royals.

Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat. The three-time IPL winner didn’t get off the mark with a good start. Within the first 10 overs, they had lost their top four batsmen. But, MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja stitched a good partnership of 51 runs. Soon they were dismissed by RR bowlers and CSK was once again left under pressure that saw them scoring only 125 runs in 20 overs.

It looked like an easy task for the Royals batting line-up to chase the target without much hassle. And, on the back of Jos Buttler and Steve Smith partnership, Royals registered victory with 15 balls to spare. The England batsman scored 70 runs off 48 balls followed by the Aussie batter, who managed 26 runs with his willow.

Although the Royals won the game easily and were praised by netizens all over social media. But, one thing that stole the limelight was MS Dhoni’s world-class catch behind the stumps. The instance happened in the 5th over of the game when Sanju Samson was at the crease and Deepak Chahar was the designated bowler.

The Indian pacer bowled was getting some swing in the game. But, he bowled his third delivery down the leg-side. Meanwhile, Samson’s eyes lit up to grab a boundary with third men standing inside the circle. He failed to get his timing well while playing the stroke and the ball took a thick edge. It looked enough in order to grab a boundary. But, MS Dhoni had some other plans.

CSK skipper went for a full stretched dive towards his left and took an exceptional one-handed catch. In reply, it was found that Dhoni took that one with the help of his thumb and forefinger only. After that, the fans of the former World Cup winner took to social media and begun praising his wicketkeeping skills.
