The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League is getting better day by day as the tournament is approaching its second half. From high-scoring contests to low-scoring thrillers there is no shortage of entertainment in this year’s IPL.

One such high voltage game concluded on Wednesday where we witnessed Pat Cummins playing one of the most sensational knocks of the IPL 2022 season. Kolkata Knight Riders beat Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets. The Australian Test skipper playing his first match of the tournament scored the joint-fastest half-century as he hit Daniel Sams for 35 runs to guide the team to victory. The win took KKR to the top of the points table while pushing Rajasthan Royals down a spot.

Here is the updated points table, Orange Cap, and Purple Cap leaders after the completion of the MI vs KKR match on Wednesday.

IPL 2022 Points Table

Following the win against MI, Kolkata Knight Riders are at the top spot on the points table. After a humiliating loss against RCB, they bounced back strong to win both of their games. Rajasthan Royals meanwhile have moved to the second spot. RR won their first two matches but was defeated by RCB in their last outing.

Gujarat Titans won both their matches against LSG and DC respectively and are placed at the 3rd spot. Punjab Kings defeated Chennai Super Kings by a heavy margin in their last outing and take the 4th spot.

Lucknow Supergiants made a good comeback winning two matches after a defeat in their first match by the hands of newbies Gujarat Titans. They currently stand at the 5th spot.

After a loss in a high-run scoring thriller against Punjab Kings, RCB won both their outings to take the 6th spot on the points table. Delhi Capitals have played just two games and won just one against Mumbai Indians. They are currently placed at the 7th spot.

The best two teams in IPL history, MI and CSK had an unfortunate start to their campaign, losing all the three matches they have played. CSK takes the 8th spot while MI is placed at the 9th spot. Meanwhile, with two losses so far SRH is at the bottom of the points table.
