SRH vs RCB

Match 65 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 went in favour of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Virat Kohli produced a majestic performance as he scored a 100 to make sure RCB beat SRH in thus crunch encounter.

As the race for the playoffs heats up, every single game has consequences. With this win, RCB dethroned Mumbai Indians (MI) from the 4th position and occupied that place. RCB are now in pole position to qualify for the playoffs.

Hyderabad on the other hand, suffered their 9th defeat in the ongoing season and it seems like they will be finishing with the wooden spoon.

In this article, we take a look at the top 3 talking points of the SRH vs RCB game that took place in Hyderabad:

1. Virat Kohli’s 6th IPL 100

A sheer over-achiever, Virat Kohli once again proved as to why he is an epitome of class and determination. Chasing 187 runs, Virat Kohli stitched a fabulous opening stand partnership with Faf Du Plessis and he batted with intent.

Kohli middled most of the deliveries he faced and it was quite evident that the Net Run-Rate (NRR) was in his mind.

2. Heinrich Klaasen’s century goes in vain

In the first innings, SRH batter Heinrich Klaasen was the sole performer for Hyderabad. He scored a sensational hundred but eventually had to finish in the losing side. The South African hard-hitting middle-order batter scored 104 runs in just 51 balls and helped SRH post a formidable total.

Heinrich Klaasen’s innings was packed with 8 fours and 6 sixes and he had a brilliant strike-rate of 103.92. It was quite unfortunate that he had to finish behind the winning line as his innings was full of skill and substance.

3. Mohammad Siraj was exceptional with the ball

The leader of RCB’s bowling pack, Mohammad Siraj once again put out a stupendous performance. The out-an-out pacer bowled tremendously well at his home ground and did not disappoint his skipper Faf Du Plessis.

In 4 overs, Siraj conceded only 17 runs and had an exceptional economy of 4.25. He also took a wicket and his scalp was Glenn Phillips. Mohammad Siraj’s stocks have had a meteoric rise in the last few years and he is surely, the backbone of the bowling department of Royal Challengers Bangalore.

If RCB are to win IPL 2023, then Mohammad Siraj will have to play the role of an aggressor and leader with the white-cherry.
