The Gujarat Titans (GT), the defending champions, have once more demonstrated their supremacy in IPL 2023, sealing their spot in the Playoffs at the top of the Points Table. Has an outstanding 20 points from 14 games. 

With 17 points from 14 games, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants, took second and third, respectively. 

The Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by an impressive eight wickets in the last league match to clinch the highly competitive race for fourth place.

IPL 2023: Faf du Plessis holding the Orange Cap

In a display of sheer brilliance, Gujarat Titans’ opener Shubman Gill showcased his batting prowess by smashing a remarkable 104 runs against RCB, securing his second consecutive century in IPL 2023. Gill’s extraordinary performance has elevated his tournament tally to an impressive 680 runs in 14 matches. 

Currently, the holder of the coveted Orange Cap is RCB skipper Faf du Plessis, who has amassed a commendable 730 runs from 14 matches, accompanied by eight half-centuries.

However, with at least two more matches on the horizon, if not three, Gill stands a chance to surpass Du Plessis and claim the prestigious Orange Cap this week. The competition for the top spot is intense, as players strive to make their mark in the league. 

IPL 2023: Mohammad Shami holds on to Purple Cap

Maintaining his stronghold on the Purple Cap, Gujarat Titans’ fast bowler Mohammad Shami has impressively claimed 24 wickets in 14 matches, a feat matched by his teammate and leg-spinner Rashid Khan, who has also taken the same number of wickets during the league stage of the IPL 2023. 

In the race for the Purple Cap, Yuzvendra Chahal of the Rajasthan Royals concluded his campaign with 21 wickets in 14 matches, firmly securing his place in third position.
