Yashasvi Jaiswal Fastest Half-century

Yashasvi Jaiswal of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) made history during their match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by becoming the fastest player ever to achieve a half-century in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The left-handed batsman accomplished this feat in just 13 balls, surpassing the previous record held by KL Rahul.

Jaiswal continued his excellent form by going on to score an unbeaten 98, contributing significantly to Rajasthan’s victory as they reached their target of 150 in only 13.1 overs. His 47-ball innings was adorned with 12 fours and five sixes.

Jaiswal’s blazing start in pursuit of the target was instrumental in his team’s success, as he hit Nitish Rana for consecutive sixes on the first two deliveries and followed up with three boundaries on the next four balls, smashing a total of 26 runs in the opening over.

Jaiswal’s 13-ball half-century broke KL Rahul’s longstanding record of completing the feat in 14 balls during his debut match for Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) in IPL 2018.

Meanwhile, in IPL 2022, Pat Cummins also equalled the record for the fastest half-century, achieving the feat while playing for KKR. However, the following year, Rajasthan Royals’ Jaiswal broke this record by scoring the IPL’s quickest half-century against KKR.
