LSG vs PBKS Mayank Yadav

Uncapped player, Mayank Yadav, hogged the limelight in Match 11 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as he clocked a record 155.8 delivery in IPL 2024. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) eventually won the game by 21 runs at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow.

In the beginning of the 12th over, Mayank Yadav broke the speedometer readings as he clocked a 155 KMPH delivery and outfoxed Shikhar Dhawan. Punjab were batting on 101-0 and were cruising towards a clinical victory but youngster Mayank Yadav had other plans.

The delivery in the beginning of the 12th over was a back of a good length ball and Dhawan couldn’t play it despite going for it. It announced the arrival of a 21-year-old talented pacer, who has a lot of potential under his belt.

Mayank Yadav was consistently bowling above 145 KMPH and was the cynosure of all eyes in Match 11 of IPL 2024. He bagged 3 wickets in the game and conceded only 27 runs with a good economy rate of 6.75.

On the other hand, Mohsin Khan took 2 wickets in this game and derailed the chase of Punjab Kings. The demolition of Punjab’s batting in the second half of the second innings was orchestrated by Mayank Yadav as he bagged 3 wickets and most of his deliveries were unplayable.

His scalps in this match included Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma. It was the youngster who broke the opening partnership stand of 102 runs and then helped Lucknow crawl back into the game.

Shikhar Dhawan’s gutsy knock went in vain

Skipper Shikhar Dhawan scored a fighting knock of 70 runs in 50 balls but it went in vain as Lucknow Super Giants had the last laugh at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow. Dhawan’s knock was peppered with 7 fours and 3 sixes and he had a strike-rate of 140.

Punjab Kings have now lost two matches on the bounce. They had lost their previous game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and are now in the 6th position in the points table.

They next play a game versus Gujarat Titans (GT) on 4th April 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
