Varun Chakravarthy is one of the biggest finds this year in the Indian Premier League. Although his franchise has got knocked out from the tournament. But, he impressed everyone with his brilliant bowling. As a result, he was picked in Team India’s T20I squad that will travel to Australia. However, now there are reports that state that KKR didn’t reveal information about Varun’s injury. And, the latter might be dropped from the squad.
The 29-year-old had a memorable tournament as a bowler. He grabbed 17 wickets in 13 games while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders. The aforementioned spinner also took one five-wicket haul against Delhi Capitals. Currently, he is practicing in the nets after joining Team India’s bio-bubble.

There are reports that Varun Chakravarthy had a labrum tear in his shoulder. Still, he was declared fit by Team India’s physio Nitin Patel before the selectors picked him in India’s T20 squad. Although, the injury will not affect the bowling performance of the player. But, he will surely have problems while throwing the ball. And, selectors might drop the spinner from the T20I squad.
“The selectors weren’t informed about the injury. Now it’s up to the selectors to pick Varun for the Australian tour or not. It will be selectors call,” a BCCI official said.
In the previous IPL season, Varun Chakravarthy got only one game to play from Kings XI Punjab. He had a horrific debut, who gave away 35 runs in his three overs taking only one wicket. And, Kings released him from their squad into the auction pool for IPL 2020.
Kolkata Knight Riders saw some caliber in the spinner and they bought him at a hefty pay price of INR 4 crore. Interestingly, he also gave up to mark performances in his consistent run during the Indian Premier League 2020. KKR is already out of the tournament.
