Indian Premier League is moving in its fag end with the playoff stage approaching quickly. On Sunday, the picture got a bit clear as Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals got knocked out from the tournament after losing the respective games. After suffering defeat Royals fast-bowler Jofra Archer shared an inspirational post for the fans.
Rajasthan Royals locked horns with Kolkata Knight Riders in a crucial clash on Sunday. The former bowlers failed to produce a good performance due to which the KKR batting unit posted a mammoth total of 191 runs in stipulated 20 overs. RR was under immense pressure and their batting order collapsed against opponent bowlers. Royals managed only 131 runs at a loss of 9 wickets and suffered defeat by 60 runs. Pat Cummins emerged as the hero for KKR as he took four wicket-haul giving away just 34 runs.
Jofra Archer Shares Inspirational Post
It was a heartbreaking defeat for the Royals as they were very close to qualifying for the playoffs. Soon after the game, Jofra Archer took to his official Twitter handle and shared a post in which he wrote,” We come back stronger.”
The England-pacer lone had a great season playing for Rajasthan Royals. He grabbed 20 wickets in 14 games for his team. But, he didn’t get enough support from other pacers in the team. Post-match, Steve Smith also praised his teammate and said that Jofra Archer performed brilliantly. But, he didn’t get enough support from the other bowling end.
“Jofra has been exceptional pretty much every game. Tewatia obviously has pulled a few out of the hat throughout the tournament. Not enough support for them,” Smith said as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Andrew McDonald also echoed in his skipper’s voice. He said that Jofra had a great season as a bowler. He added that the pacer bowled at a good economy rate and grabbed wickets when the team needed it.
“Jofra was outstanding with his economy rates. He’s been incredible on the field and stamped his authority on the game early in the tournament when he got his chance with the bat. His all-around game keeps getting better. We had too few contributions around him,” Royals coach Andrew McDonald said.
