30th November was the deadline date given by BCCI to all the franchises to release the final list of retained players. And, all the franchises released the much-awaited list of all their players. Delhi Capitals, the runner-up of the previous edition hogged the spotlight for taking some surprising decisions by releasing some prolific players into the mega-auction.

Delhi Capitals on Tuesday announced that they have retained Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Anrich Nortje, and Axar Patel going ahead in IPL 2022 mega-auction. They mentioned that the Indian wicketkeeper is their first pick, who has retained a salary of INR 16 Crores followed by Axar Patel at 9 Crores, Prithvi Shaw at INR 7.5 Crores, and Anrich Nortje at 6.5 Crores.

But, DC ad to follow the BCCI rules due to which they ended up preferring Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw, Anrich Nortje, and Rishabh Pant as their topmost players.
