In order to solidify their position in the ICC Test Championship, India will seek to dominate a tenacious but inconsistent Bangladesh in the second Test, which begins on Thursday in Dhaka. The Indian cricket board said Tuesday that the visitors will once more be without injured skipper Rohit Sharma, who missed the first Test due to a thumb injury.
India is currently behind Australia in the Test Championship standings, which country is currently leading South Africa 1-0 at home in a three-match series. The nine teams will play six series apiece during the current cycle, which continues through June 2023. In the championship game, the top two teams will square off at London’s Oval.
India defeated Bangladesh by 188 runs in the opening Test at Chittagong, although the visitors, spearheaded by KL Rahul in Rohit’s absence, had to fight hard to win. The victory will improve India’s chances of appearing in the WTC final, though.
