One of the most highly-anticipated series in the form of India vs Bangladesh will kick-start from 4th December 2022 and it will be played in Bangladesh. 3 ODI matches will be played followed by 2 Test matches and the Indian cricket team has named a full-strength team for this series.

The likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul come back to the Indian team for this India vs Bangladesh series after a brief hiatus. The big guns of Indian cricket were given a break after the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 to keep their workload management quite smooth. Rohit Sharma will return to the helm as captain in both the formats. His form has been a concern for Team India but the flamboyant opener would be hoping to get some runs and get his confidence back.

However, Bangladesh’s ODI skipper and veteran batter Tamim Iqbal has been ruled out of the series due to a groin injury. His fellow companion and opener Liton Das will take over the captaincy duties for the ODI series. Speedster Taskin Ahmed too was earlier ruled out of the 1st ODI because of a back injury.

Tamim’s absence will create a huge void in the Bangladesh team. The southpaw is one of the most experienced cricketers of Bangladesh and would have been a force to reckon with in this India vs Bangladesh ODI series. The 33-year-old cricketer has mustered over 8000 runs for Bangladesh in ODIs and is a legend of the country.

Mohammed Shami has also been ruled out of the India vs Bangladesh ODI series

In other news, Indian pacer Mohammad Shami has too been ruled out of the series because of a shoulder injury. Express pace bowler Umran Malik who recently debuted in the New Zealand series and picked up 3 wickets, has been called up as a replacement player.

The 1st India vs Bangladesh ODI will take place tomorrow at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka. The match is slated to kick-start from 11:30 AM (IST).
