Ishan Kishan’s magnificent double century helped team India win by a large margin of 227 runs at Chattogram, but it was just another forgettable performance by the “Men in Blue” after they were severely outplayed by the hosts Bangladesh in the ODI series.
The next two Test matches of Team India’s current tour will now commence on December 14, with the first Test match taking place at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
Due to ongoing injury issues, India will be missing all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and bowler Mohammed Shami, who were both initially selected for the team. Jadeja is still recovering from knee surgery, while Shami is recovering from a shoulder problem.
Saurabh Kumar of Uttar Pradesh, a left-arm spinner, has been selected to the team in place of Jadeja and may very well play his debut Test in the forthcoming series. Navdeep Saini and, most recently, Jaydev Unadkat have been recruited to the squad to take Shami’s spot. In Rohit’s absence, KL Rahul will serve as the Indian team’s captain for the first Test.
