The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction is done and dusted. The team management of every franchise has applied their business acumen and has purchased some quality players. The IPL 2023 auction has been a memorable one as 3 of the highest ever buys in an IPL auction took place in this year’s mini-IPL auction.
India’s immediate neighbours, Bangladesh will have 3 of its players playing in the cash-rich IPL. Whether the cricketers will be receiving a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for playing the entire tournament or not, remains to be seen. Notably, Bangladesh will be playing an ODI series against Ireland in the middle of the IPL 2023.
There were two Bangladeshi cricketers who were bought in the recently-concluded IPL 2023 auction. Both of them were bought during the accelerated auction as they were unsold in the first round. In this article, we take a look at 3 Bangladesh players who will be featuring in the upcoming IPL 2023 auction:
1. Shakib Al Hasan (KKR)
One of the best all-rounders of contemporary times, Bangladesh’s T20I and Test skipper Shakib Al Hasan will be representing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the upcoming IPL. He was purchased for Rs. 1.50 crores, which was his base price in the IPL 2023 auction. Shakib previously represented KKR from 2011-2017 and then again in 2021. With the departure of Mohammad Nabi from KKR, Shakib will be a good replacement of Sunil Narine.
2. Litton Das (KKR)
Another Bangladeshi player bought by the KKR franchise is Litton Das. Das recently hogged the limelight for powering his side to a 2-1 ODI series victory against India. He is one of the most compact and solid top-order batters and can be used as an opener by KKR. Das also is a wicket-keeper and was purchased for Rs. 50 lakhs, which was his base price in the IPL 2023 auction.

Delhi Capitals (DC) decided to retain Bangladeshi speedster Mustafizur Rahman for the IPL 2023. He was purchased by Delhi for Rs.2 crores, which was his base price in the IPL 2022 mega-auction. The left-arm pacer who is known for his cutters, slower deliveries and other fancy variations, played 8 games for Delhi in IPL 2022. Rahman bagged 8 wickets in IPL 2022. In IPL 2016, Mustafizur Rahman was purchased by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for Rs. 1 crore. He bagged 17 wickets in 16 matches and had carved a niche for himself in the IPL.
