In the forthcoming IPL 2023 Auction, Kolkata Knight Riders must acquire a few vital players. The franchise has the smallest amount of money left (7.05 crores) to spend on 11 players, three of whom are from outside India. They currently have a squad of 14 players. There are a maximum of 25 players per organization.
As Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) prepares for IPL 2023, the team looks to identify an “impact player” to help them achieve success in the tournament. The team is looking for a player who can make an immediate impact in the IPL 2023 and take the team to the next level.
The ideal player for KKR should have a strong batting ability and be a good fielder too. KKR should also look for a player with the ability to bowl tight lines and contain the batsmen. Varun Chakravarthy
In his first two IPL seasons, Varun was a revelation for KKR, who amassed 35 wickets in those two seasons. He performed poorly in the IPL 2022, though, taking just six wickets at an economy rate of 8.51 in 11 games. He was still signed by KKR for the 2023 IPL despite his mediocre performance.
Varun Chakravarthy, however, can benefit greatly from the new Impact Player Rule by being forced to bowl his allotted 4 overs before being replaced by another player.
Rinku Singh
In past seasons of IPL, Rinku Singh has proved his worth for KKR. Given that no overseas players may be utilized via this regulation in the IPL and that KKR cannot use their proven finisher, Andre Russell, as their finisher, KKR can employ Rinku Singh as a finisher by using the Impact Player rule.
Venkatesh Iyer
Iyer excelled with KKR as an opener in the second half of the IPL in 2021. He contributed significantly to KKR reaching the championship game with his 370 runs scored in 10 games.
The Knights may employ him as an impact player and permit him to start playing aggressively right away in difficult run chases in games where KKR needs early beginnings.
