IPL 2023: 3 Spinner Who Can Fetch High Bids In The Upcoming IPL 2023 Auction

Date:

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction is just around the corner and we can expect some action-packed things at Kochi. The beauty of auction is that every single year, a few new names spring up and surprise us with their prices at which they are sold. On the other hand, there are also players who fail to get a bid and that is also sometimes surprising for us.

Spinners have always played a huge role in IPL. The spin-friendly tracks of India can be attributed as one of the reasons to this. In the top 6 wicket-takers in IPL, 4 of them are spinners. Yuzvendra Chahal and Amit Mishra are 3rd and 4th in the list of highest wicket-takers in IPL as they have bagged 166 wickets each.

Even though the IPL 2023 auction is a mini-auction, we might see some staggering bids and some exceptional buys. In this article, we take a look at 3 spinners who can fetch high bids in the upcoming IPL 2023 auction:

1. Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh)

A veteran in the T20 format and the skipper of the Bangladesh Test and T20 teams, Shakib Al Hasan can be a player who can get high bids in the IPL 2023 auction. The talented all-rounder has truckloads of experience under his belt and is also a captaincy material player. He has so far played 71 IPL games but missed out on IPL 2022 after being unsold. Any team can target him as he is a dependable batter and a wicket-taking bowler.

2. Adam Zampa (Australia)

If we do not take into consideration the fact that Adam Zampa left the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team mid-way during the IPL 2021, then the wily leg-spinner can be bought by any team for a lofty amount. The wily leg-spinner has played 72 T20I matches for the Ozzies and has bagged 82 wickets at a good average of 21.7. Zampa has represented the likes of Rising Pune Supergiants and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.

3. Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Afghanistan)

Way back in IPL 2018, Mujeeb was breathing fire with the ball for the Punjab franchise. He hogged the limelight when he took 14 wickets in 11 games and the youngster was touted as being the next big-thing in international cricket. He has played 36 T20Is so far for Afghanistan and has taken 49 wickets.
