IPL 2023 auction update

There are still a few months until the next Indian Premier League (IPL) season, but anticipation for the IPL 2023 campaign is already high because there are only a few weeks left before the IPL 2023 auction.

There is a lot of excitement building up for the 16th season of the wealthy league, even though there won’t be a massive auction like the previous year. On December 23, the IPL 2023 auction will be held in Kochi, and as many as 991 players have signed up for the spectacle.

While every franchise has also kept between 10 and 16 players, each team is only allowed to have a squad strength of 25. This will be the second season when 10 teams will compete for 714 Indian players as well as 277 overseas players.

The anticipation grows with each day that goes by, and each of the 10 teams must be working diligently behind the scenes to decide which players they will target in IPL 2023 auction. Know complete details on IPL 2023 auction.

IPL 2023 Auction: Latest News & Updates

In front of the IPL 2023 season, BCCI has developed a new rule known as the “Impact Player” rule. The regulation permits teams to replace any member of the starting XI with a substitute player.

The names of four substitutes must be submitted by each side participating in the match at the time of toss. Teams may only change their starting lineup by substituting a player from the list of four players.

Additionally, the “Impact Player” is only permitted to replace one starting XI player before the end of the 14th over of either inning. After that point, the substituted player is no longer permitted to take part in the game. When there are fewer than 10 overs on each side, the “Impact Player” rule is not applied. The rule does not apply to the squad’s international players; it is only applicable to Indian players.
