Nicholas Pooran, a former player for Sunrisers Hyderabad, was sold to Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 16 crore on Friday during the mini IPL auction. The renowned West Indies player was acquired by Lucknow after a bidding war with Delhi Capitals for a base price of Rs 2 crore.
He received this massive IPL 2023 deal thanks to his recent T10 League success. Left-handed batter Nicholas Pooran is another West Indian player who consistently performs well in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Pooran has participated in competitions all over the world, including as the Abu Dhabi T10 and the Big Bash in Australia.
Recently, Pooran resigned from his position as West Indies’ white-ball skipper due to the team’s underwhelming showing at the T20 World Cup. His former IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad also let him go last month.
Pooran has played 47 games in the IPL and has a strike rate of 151.20 while scoring 912 runs. His current high score is 77 runs.
