IPL 2023 auction notable omissions

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction will be a highly competitive event with several players being snapped up by franchises across the country. But there were also some players who didn’t get the attention they deserved and were ultimately ignored by all franchises for IPL 2023 auction.

Among other big-name omissions include former India batter Kedar Jadhav, Martin Guptill, and Colin de Grandhomme. Ben Cutting and Ashton Turner are also out for IPL 2023 auction. These players have a wealth of experience and have been major contributors to their teams over the years.

Their presence in the IPL 2023 auction would have been a great addition to any franchise, but sadly, no one was willing to take a chance on them. Apart from these big names, there were also some lesser-known players who were snubbed by the franchises. These players had shown promise in the recent domestic tournaments but lacked the experience to make a mark in the IPL.

405 players who will be up for bid during the December 23 mini-auction in Kochi are included on the auction list. From the initial list of 991 participants, a total of 369 individuals were shortlisted by 10 teams. On the other hand, teams requested 36 more players. They are then included in the final list. The mega event’s auction will now feature a total of 405 players. 273 of the 405 players are Indian, and 132 are from other countries. Know the top 3 players who are omitted from the final IPL 2023 auction list.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz

Whether it was with the bat, ball, or on the field, the all-rounder has performed admirably in pressure situations. In the IPL, making an impression under pressure is what matters. Miraz is successful at doing just that.

The all-rounder contributed to the hosts’ series victory over the Men in Blue by scoring at a strike rate of 111. He contributed with the ball in hand as well, taking four wickets.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz fails to attract any bidders at the IPL Auction despite having a significant role in Bangladesh’s victory over India in the ODI series. Only four Bangladeshi players made the final cut of 405 players, leaving the all-rounder off the list.

Kedar Jadhav

Another notable player missing from the list of 405 is Kedar Jadhav. Jadhav, who was a member of the 2019 World Cup team, failed to find a buyer after a disappointing season with Sunrisers.

For Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, India’s all-rounder Kedar Jadhav has performed numerous match-winning innings. He has participated in nine T20 games and 73 ODIs for India. In 73 ODIs, he has scored 1389 runs, including two centuries and six half-centuries. In ODIs, he has claimed 27 wickets. He has 122 runs in nine T20 matches at the same time.

He has played for IPL teams in Delhi, Kochi, Bangalore, and Hyderabad in addition to Chennai. Jadhav has 1196 runs total in 93 IPL games.

Martin Guptill

In the T20 league, Martin Guptill has been a big player. In the smallest format, the seasoned batter has played in 303 games and amassed an absurd total of 8569 runs with a strike rate of 130.80. For New Zealand, Guptill has also been fairly impressive, scoring 3531 runs at a strike rate of 135.70 in 122 T20 Internationals.

Due to his current form, he was not included in the NZ squad in recently concluded series. Additionally, he is no longer bound by the core contract. The experienced batter’s future in international cricket is uncertain, therefore he once more doesn’t make it into the IPL 2023 auction pool’s final cut.
