Virat Kohli got dismissed at a score of 23 runs in the 1st innings against Sri Lanka in the ongoing pink-ball Test. The fans were left surprised by the way Kohli got outplayed by the bowlers in the 2nd Test. Now, Wasim Jaffer has come up supporting the former Indian skipper.

Virat Kohli has been struggling with the bat when it comes to scoring centuries. He has not smashed a single-ton across all the formats in the last three years. The cricket fans are still waiting for his drought to finish. However, Kohli has so far failed on all occasions in living up to the expectations.

Virat Kohli will be soon back at his best: Wasim Jaffer

The star player Virat Kohli was dismissed by spinner Dhananjaya de Silva in a very unlikely manner. In an interview, Wasim Jaffer discussed Virat Kohli’s current batting form. As per him, Kohli has not had good runs with the bat in the past couple of years due to which he is lacking in confidence.

He added that the moment Kohli gets a century he will be simply unstoppable. The former Indian opener mentioned that Kohli is not very far away from his century and will get to see the actually Kohli back in his top-notch form.

“There is nothing like that (on whether there are flaws in Kohli’s technique). He doesn’t have enough runs under his belt and there is a lack of confidence. The kind of runs that we expect from Kohli is not seen. Once he gets to that hundred and he finds form, I am quite sure that we will get to see the old Virat Kohli,” said Jaffer in a chat with ESPNCricinfo.

“I don’t think so (on Shreyas Iyer’s knock being the best by an Indian in recent times). There are many knocks of Rishabh Pant that have been magnificent. But definitely if you see the context of this Test match and the direction in which it is going, then it is a great knock,” concluded Jaffer.
