New Zealand ODI Squad

On Sunday, December 18, New Zealand announced their squad for the forthcoming ODI series against India in January 2023. Additionally, the Black Caps have released their three-match ODI series team against Pakistan. To balance the burden on players and personnel, New Zealand’s selectors have picked separate ODI squads for both series.

Kane Williamson (white-ball), the team’s captain, will return home, therefore Tom Latham will take the helm in India. After the final ODI of the Pakistan tour, Tim Southee, who was recently named as New Zealand’s red-ball captain after Williamson stepped down, will fly home with coaches Gary Stead and Shane Jurgensen to begin their planning for a home Test series against England scheduled to be played in mid-February 2023.

For the series in India, left-hander Mark Chapman and bowler Jacob Duffy will replace the roles of Williamson and Southee. The team has not yet been announced for the T20I series against India. All-rounder Henry Shipley of Canterbury, who has been successful recently in the local circuit, was acknowledged for his efforts and was able to earn a spot in the ODI squads for both tours (Pakistan and India).
