Pakistan vs New Zealand: New Zealand Test Squad Announced, Tim Southee Set To Lead

Date:

The test team from New Zealand Cricket has been announced. The test series against Pakistan is set to begin on December 26. Tim Southee will lead the team for the first time during the Test series against Pakistan after Kane Williamson stepped down from the position earlier on Thursday, December 15.

Glenn Phillips and Ish Sodhi are back in Test cricket. The fast bowler, Southee is in charge of a different-looking team since Kyle Jamieson is still healing from his back ailment and Trent Boult has withdrawn from this tour. New Zealand will soon embark on its first visit to Pakistan since 2003.

While uncapped pacer Blair Tickner is still on the 15-man squad, former captain Kane Williamson will play the role of a batter. In the meantime, Tom Latham has been named Southee’s deputy.
