Rohit Sharma praises Virat Kohli- The Skipper, Says It was Great Playing Under His Captaincy

Rohit Sharma, the new Indian skipper opines that Virat Kohli has done a great job being skipper of Team India. He has put the Indian side in a position from where there is no looking back. The new skipper lavished praise on former Indian skippers’ and said that he is waiting to play alongside Delhiite going ahead in the future.

Virat Kohli had already announced that he will leave the captaincy of Team India post T20 World Cup. However, it was not in the plans that Kohli will not be leading Team India in any of the formats. But, things have changed strangely and BCCI recently announced Rohit Sharma as Team India’s new T20I skipper replacing Virat Kohli.

In a clip uploaded by BCCI, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was seen putting a full stop to all the speculations about his poor relationship with Virat Kohli. He praised former team India skipper for leading the side from the front. As per him, the 33-year-old always led the Indian cricket team with full determination.

“He has put the team in a situation where there is no looking back. Those five years that he led the team, he led from the front every time we stepped onto the park. There was clear grit and determination to win every game. That was the message to the entire squad,” Rohit said in a video uploaded on the official website of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Rohit Sharma mentioned that it was great to play under him over the years. The new skipper looked extremely excited to play alongside Kohli going ahead in the future.

“We had a great time playing under him. I have played a lot of cricket with him and enjoyed each and every moment and I will still continue to do that. We need to keep getting better as a team and as individuals and that will be the focus for not just me but for the entire squad moving forward,” said Rohit.
