India lost ODI and Test series to South Africa recently in the presence of their star bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The critics pointed out how Indian bowlers struggled in South Africa. Now, Shoaib Akhtar has also joined the bandwagon and he has come up saying Indian pacers lack intent on their faces. Meanwhile, he also mentioned how Pakistan bowlers are better than Indian fast bowlers.

Indian pace attack poorly failed in chipping early wickets in South Africa, This led to pressure on the spinners in the middle-overs that went against Men in Blue. It’s been a long that Indian pacers have come under scrutiny for not taking wickets with the new ball. Also, in numerous important games, they have failed in turning heads up and rescuing their side.

Shoaib Akhtar, the former Pakistan pacer turned analyst in a video said praised that India is producing some exceptional fast-bowlers for the past few years. But, the former player still feels that the Pakistan spearheads are still better than the Indian lads. As per him, there is a big difference between the Indian and Pakistan pacers. He added that there is anger on the faces of his nation bowlers, who likes to scare batsman with their intent. However, this is not the case with Indian pacers.

“There is a difference between Pakistan and India. The Indians are producing good fast bowlers, but what they are lacking is the rare energy – that anger on your face, that attitude that I am going to just kill you,” Akhtar claimed.

“The idols that we have, the food, the environment, the attitude. At the same time, you have people like me who are full of energy. It gives us pleasure to bowl quick,” he added.

Among Indian bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have done a great job in the past couple of years. But, when it comes to a pressure situation, except for Bumrah others have failed on many occasions. There have been very few games when Indian pacers have won games for Team India in the last year or so. In the majority of the high-pressure games, it mostly comes down to Indian batsmen to win it for the country in white-ball cricket.

Now, pacers like Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, and others are expected to get some regular games in ODIs and T20Is. And, Indian cricket fans will be hopeful of getting some new pacers in this transitional phase of Indian cricket team.
