The 2nd Test match between India and Bangladesh is presently going on at Mirpur and it is evenly poised. After dismissing the home side for 227 runs, India managed to score 314 in their first innings, courtesy the sublime half-centuries from Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant. But during the 44th over, a horrific injury happened to Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
While Taskin Ahmed was bowling the 4th delivery of his over, Shreyas Iyer slashed the ball but the extra bounce forced the cherry to go towards the gully region. Mehidy Hasan dived towards his right and tried taking a one-handed blinder.
Mehidy Hasan fumbled and dropped the catch but he landed on his face. Hasan was seen in extreme pain and it seemed like it was a serious injury. He immediately left the field and was attended to by the doctors of the Bangladesh team.
Shreyas Iyer scored 87 runs before being struck leg before wicket (LBW) by Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan. Pant was once again dismissed for 93 runs and he scored 7 fours and 5 sixes.
Shakib Al Hasan and Taijul Islam were outstanding during the 1st innings of India and bagged 4 wickets each. Mehidy Hasan Miraz took 1 wicket and bowled 17 overs, of which 2 were maiden overs.
Bangladesh scored 7 runs in 6 overs in their 2nd innings, before the umpire called stumps. They still trail by 80 runs and with 3 days to go, they would be looking to bat the entire day tomorrow and put on a massive total.
India on the other hand would be looking to quickly take the wickets and complete a clean sweep against the home team. India won the 1st Test match by a humongous margin of 188 runs. Jaydev Unadkat had previously took 2 wickets in the 1st innings and impressed everyone in his comeback Test match.
