Thisara Perera achieved a big milestone in competitive cricket that no Sri Lankan batsmen have ever achieved. He smashed six sixes in an over during a first-class match while playing for the Sri Lankan army against Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club in a limited over list A format.
The veteran Sri Lankan is reckoned as one of the finest in the history of Sri Lankan cricket. He is a fast-bowling all-rounder, who is a demanded player in franchise cricket. The left-handed player too often comes up with scintillating performance with the bat or ball. So far he has managed 237 wickets and 3700 plus international runs with his willow.
Thisara Perera Slammed Six Sixes In An Over
The match between the Sri Lankan army and Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club was hampered due to rain. And, the game was reduced to 41 overs from 50 overs. When Thisara Perera took the crease there were only 20 balls left for him to face in total. However, they were enough for the Sri Lankan international to leave his mark in the match.
He got off the mark with a six on the final delivery of 39th over and went for six on all the deliveries bowled by Dilhan Cooray. It was a match to forget for the bowler and he registered expensive bowling figures of 73 runs in his four overs. And, Perera has become the eight-player on the planet to achieve this rare milestone. Before him, Kieron Pollard, Ravi Shastri, Herschelle Gibbs, Yuvraj Singh, Ross Whiteley, Hazratullah Zazai, and Leo Carter had achieved this feat in cricket. Meanwhile, he also slammed the 2nd fastest fifty ever in the first-class cricket studded with eight boundaries in just 13 balls.
